DAY ONE… 51.5 miles (82.5 km)
Arrived at St Malo on overnight (rather rolling) ferry. Woken by persistent music at the unearthly hour of 6am.
Disembarked to find that the ferry to Dinard did not begin to run till 9.30am so we decided to cycle over the barrage de Rance (a dual carriageway) and then down greenways from Dinard all the way to Dinan. Dinan is a lovely boutique port. We found an almond brioche and apple pie in a boulangerie and then continued on down greenways .
Our lunch stop was in a park where a man was excitedly terminating all the weeds with a flame thrower.
St. Meen le Grand campsite was closed but luckily still had water and showers on so we stayed on the empty campsite in relative luxury , for free. The night was very cold.
