DAY ONE…
We’ve arrived for the next exciting adventure. This time cycling from near Vrindavan where we left off our last ride, and heading out to the Bay of Bengal. The ride will take us through quite unchartered territory. We’ve been warned of ‘Law and Order ‘problems, pertaining to Naxalite activity, not to mention lots of jungle with its resident beasts inside.
We arrive at Delhi airport and transfer to a minibus which will take us to Bharatpur, a lovely bird sanctuary.

This time we have taken two friends with us for some of the ride (first three weeks), Suzy and Anna. They are coming for the bits of the ride that don’t involve the States that we have been warned against. Stands to reason, we don’t want anything to happen to them, but we will take the risk.
The minibus mercifully pauses for a break. We’ve had virtually no food since 3am and are starving. Dosa is on the menu, and it is also available, which can be unusual for India!! The chai here tastes blissful. It’s great to be back.
