DAY NINE… 33.43 miles (53.80 km)
7.30am. Late set off due to sending Anna off to Orchha in the taxi, having made sure she will be safe.
Roads were quiet but many were unsurfaced, up to 4km at a time, making progress slow and painful. We were riding through Uttar Pradesh, and some people were rude and disrespectful, as we have encountered before in this state. It wasn’t all bad though.

Some villages had painted big welcome signs on every threshold. We had a long and rather trafficky end of ride today into Orchha, stopping to view a Khadi workshop. Thank goodness there was a toilet there as Suzi and I both needed it urgently. The dreaded “loose motion” had beset both of us at the same time.

Our little homestay is very comfortable, right off the main busy road, and our host is obliging with our very bizarre food requests (boiled eggs and curd).
