DAY TWENTY NINE
Woken 6.15am by a boy bringing chai. Why? We were having a lie in.
The meals routine in this place means there is little time to get much done!!!
Safari this afternoon. So much quieter than at Bandhavgarh. A lot of wild bison (Gaur), wild boar, chital (spotted deer), sambar deer, peacocks and lovely luminous green bee-eater birds.

TIM WRITES… Debrigargh Wildlife Sanctuary could not have been in a better place. Isolated from the world, including no 4G mobile signal, staying in a community run forest Nature Retreat. We were not allowed to cycle along the 5.5km forest track to get there, so initially we were worried about ever getting out again, being fenced into a garden & cottage area, to protect humans from leopards, sloth bears, Gaur, or more likely to protect the wildlife from humans. This place is an eco-tourism project, totally staffed & managed by local forest tribal people, with the profits going back into the local tribal community, including investing in village-based wellbeing & health education. The positive enthusiasm of all the staff was wonderful.
