DAY FORTY
This morning Tim is reluctant to go for his breakfast at 8am, as last night we waited 45 minutes for dinner whilst proving a sumptuous feast for the millions of mosquitoes that seem to live here (maybe the Anopheles mosquito research station should re-position to the Government Hotel?). Interesting to see if we get any maggots…..
Thought we would have a relaxing time at the beach today. Started with breakfast. Arrived in the restaurant at 8am but nothing to eat available till 8.30am, and then nothing I could actually eat. I requested some poha but by 9am nothing had arrived, so we left. We cycled some way out of town to where we had seen signs for a turtle beach. We waited patiently for hours, looking for turtles, anxious to lay some eggs, but none emerged.

Around 12 noon, a man came to take a shit at the sea edge, then more people began to descend to the beach for picnics.
Tim and I feared more photo shoots and made a hasty departure. We have had more than enough selfie requests for several lifetimes. We retreated to our room and gave up on the beach holiday idea. After what we know goes in the sea, there’s no way I would take a swim.
There really is to be a wedding tonight. 8pm start. Unfortunately, the sound system is positioned quite close to our room, and the sound check proves that it is due to be very loud. I’m kind of dreading the night. I think sleep may prove impossible.
