DAY THIRTY FOUR… 29.39 miles (47.30 km)
We are not allowed to cycle through the sanctuary. Apparently, we will be eaten by tigers on our bikes, so we have to divert onto the National Highway and skirt the reserve, (though, in fact, we do cycle through it, at times). It is a very beautiful ride, through peaceful, rural countryside, fields of mustard, a brilliant yellow with a backdrop of the Aravalli Hills with ancient buildings lost amongst them.

Villages too, with ancient houses, now abandoned. Roads were easy, and the climb, gentle.
We‘re staying in the guest house near the tiger sanctuary (Sterling Sariska Resort). Pleasant lawns (no tigers but plenty of peacocks). Arrived earlyish. It is really quite overpriced at 6,000Rs, but all meals are included, so it’s not terrible, and we have a nice room with hot water and a kettle too; such amazing luxuries!
