DAY TWENTY SEVEN… 17.5 miles (28.5 km)

We caught the train into Budapest, then cycled out of the grand city centre, through endless suburbs, on quiet roads, desperately trying to avoid the busy dual carriageway that all the traffic went along. Tim had used Google Maps to find a little footpath, the back way into the airport, so that we could avoid riding on the motorway.

Amazingly, we found the secret way into the airport on footpaths & through massive car packs, so that we were able to ride up to the Departures Hall, ready to pack our bikes & fly home.

Farewell to Budapest, until next time…. Stage Three, the ride through the Balkans.

For map lovers, here is the actual Garmin GPX route….
